I’d like to say something, not too much, just enough; SAVE. THE. FUCKING. PLANET.
There is an undoubted truth in reality, that slowly but surely is showing us a broken future. Reality is calling today. Calling the conscience of humanity, the human condition of love and compassion, to act with the ferocious urgency of now. This is the time. Now or never, is the moment. This is the place to start. Here, wherever we are standing. We only have this flickering instant, to change the world, to vouchsafe the future. This is our destiny. We have to make the greatest sacrifice we've ever had to make.
There is a rebellion underway. A huge movement. Why? Because the third world war has already started. Profit versus Life. Human existence is on the brink of the abyss. The tragedy of all tragedies is right around the corner.
Time is broken. Over the years, humans have made a joke out of time. Why is it that we think we have an eternity in this world? Climate is wrecked, seasons are exhausted, the soil is damaged, and the animals are dying. Time is no longer what was. To everything there was a time, a time to be a child, a time to be carefree, a time to live. But now, children are being deprived from the wonders of the world and are given chaos and trauma served for breakfast.
The human spirit is threatened daily. Countless feel exhausted, ignored, lonely and anxious. Humiliated by poverty and inequality, crushed by debt, powerless, controlled and trapped, a lot feel defrauded of what should be theirs. Somewhere in the world you’ve got a robber and a bank. And the bank robbed the people, so the people rob the bank. And the police came to get him, but they let him get away. Cause they’re all just working to get paid the very same. Societies are polarized, people estranged from each other divided from the living world.
This rebellion is for the young and the old. For the turtles and bees. For the furry ones and for the ones who swim. For the tallest to the smallest. For the trees and the bushes. For the flowers and seeds. This is for the water, the Nile, Amazon and Yangtze. This is for the seven seas.
This is for the life that should be. For the future that must be. There is no choice. The time to change is NOW. Sometimes in life there is no second chances, no time-out. Sometimes is now or never. And we are way past due making that decision now. We brought this upon ourselves. Greed and avarice very deeply carved in human conscious. Money and profit became more important that life itself, an uncontrollable obsession.
The new circle of life is a vicious and horrendous one. It all became toxic media (power without truth); toxic finance (power without compassion); and toxic politics (power without principle).
But with a system so rooted, the possibility of change simmers down each passing day. Power controls people. If the world understood that the power of the people is greater than the people in power, change would’ve been made by now. The rebellion of the people needs a catalyst change.
Our generation is beginning to climb the ladder of the future, and has the ultimate task at hands, facing one of the biggest challenges. It was given the gift of the world, but also, an apparent responsibility to save it. Older generations expect miracles from us, to save the unsavable, to continue their legacy, even if their legacy is the thing extinguishing the world.
The world has limit resources for an infinite number of human beings. The excessive and uncontrollable population growth, that happened in the last few decades, has coerced governments to take reckless and imminent actions to solve a problem of today, without even blinking about tomorrow. History is proof that acting without thinking has catastrophic results, and that tomorrow we have to make better choices than yesterday.
One thing is for sure, it is the ruling class that declares wars, but it is the subdued class that fights the battle. The biggest climate impact has been produced by some of the wealthiest nations, but the consequences are being felt by the poorest. There is a malicious conspiracy around those in power, a pact of silence of some sort. Everyone ruins everything without facing any type of consequence. There isn’t a greater voice to oppose them. For that is the people, who one day shall rise up, and put an end to the injustice.
Life became a motionless loop. Somewhere in the world they think they’re working for themselves. They get up every day to go to work for someone else, and somebody works for them and so they think they’ve got it made. But they’re all just working to get paid the very same
Money moves mountains. It’s unbelievable the extent of what a human is willing to do for money. Multinationals and corporations collect the souls of those who value profit over life. Those who think that finding the cure to a disease will stop them from profiting on it, so they make sure that everyone focuses on the cure and not the cause. Why is no one investing on finding what is causing cancer, instead of finding the cure to it? Because every cancer treatment facility would be forced to close. Because cancer became a sick and twisted industry of pure profit. And we have had enough.
This generation, we are the movement. We stand to make our voices heard. We rebel against those who, like Pocahontas sang, think “the earth is just a dead thing you can claim”. We won’t let them annihilate what belongs to all of us. We are nature and nature is us. We are just passing by, nature will continue its path, long after we are 6ft down.
With ultimate urgency, the rebellion of the people must come together as one. Together we are greater than we think. And now, more than ever, we need to rally, fill in the empty spaces between one and other and march together to a new world. Armageddon seems inevitable. Scientists have already proclaimed our death sentence.
This is the time to understand that if we continue to dichotomize Them form Us, we well get nowhere. Remember, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. This rebellion shall seek alliances wherever they can be found. We need to appear strong, even if we may feel weak, for we should conquer without being able to do it.
Our movement should be impenetrable as night, raging as the fire, swift as a river and ferocious as a hurricane. They well hear us like thunderbolt. We will give them no choice but to listen. Because great results can be achieved even with the smallest forces, if only we remember the power of freedom. Plan for what it is difficult while it is easy, do what is great while it is small. The equation of success does not exist, but we will never know, until we realize we never knew.
Our movement aims to love every being for its worth. To respect mother nature, like she has nurture us. To restore the broken balance of the world. To save the most vulnerable from oppression. To reestablish love and compassion, grace and beauty. The dead can’t ever be brought back to life, but we should prevent the living from further dying because our imprudent actions.
Our movement seeks justice, where it can’t be found. We wish to call upon you to unite. Give in to what is sacred, for the universe will give what it receives. The people’s will shall be heard from afar. And our will is unpretentious: love and happiness for everything and everyone. To unite nature.
To the future generation to come, don’t give up just yet. They won’t write our story; we are beyond that archetype. Our rebellion came to stay. We will give you the future you deserve. Because this rebellion is young, old, black, white, of all faiths, of all genders: the only criteria is to be alive. Every day, every hour, we are turning pain into power.
Move because you can, move because you deserve it. Move because your dreams are being stolen and because you want to take control of your future. In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.
Move because it’s your life, there is nothing more important.
This is what I wanted to say. Enough is enough.
